The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has directed the immediate disbandment of all teams, groups, and platforms formed for the 2025 Council election.
In a statement signed by Chairman, Akeem Abas and Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the leadership of the union emphasized that the purpose for which these groups were created has been fully achieved following the successful conduct of the election.
The NUJ Oyo Council leadership urged members to disengage from these platforms and embrace the spirit of unity, cooperation, and mutual respect that defines the union.
The statement highlighted the importance of unity and collective commitment to the progress of the union, emphasizing that the council’s strength lies in its unity.
The leadership called on all members to close ranks, put the election behind them, and work together harmoniously in the overall interest of the NUJ, Oyo State Council.
The union’s commitment to moving the council forward requires the support and participation of every member, the statement added.
With the election now concluded, the NUJ Oyo Council is set to focus on its core mandate of promoting the interests of its members and advancing the welfare of journalists in the state.
