The Eruwa Youth Movement (EYM) has declared support for the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, dismissing recent impeachment rumours and reaffirming confidence in his leadership.

In a communiqué released after reviewing political developments in the state, the group described Ogundoyin, as a stabilising force who has maintained peace and cohesion in the Assembly for nearly seven years.

The EYM, which represents youths in Ibarapa East Constituency, credited him with presiding over a “rancour-free” legislature, noting that such stability is uncommon in Oyo’s political history.

The communiqué praised Ogundoyin’s discipline, maturity, and commitment to democratic principles.

It also highlighted the cordial and productive relationship between the Assembly and the executive arm under Governor Seyi Makinde, saying the synergy has improved policy implementation, governance efficiency, and political stability.

Addressing speculation about the Speaker’s statewide consultations, the youths called them legitimate democratic engagements and cautioned against linking them to disloyalty or an alleged impeachment plot.

They described his track record as proof of loyalty to both the government and the people.

The group condemned attempts by “mischief-makers” to manufacture tension among political leaders, warning that such narratives are divisive and harmful to the public interest.

It urged political actors, stakeholders, and residents to exercise restraint, uphold the truth, and prioritise unity for continued development.

The Eruwa Youth Movement restated its commitment to peaceful coexistence, responsible civic engagement, and the progress of Ibarapa East and Oyo State.
