‎Oyo Assembly Congratulates NUJ Chairman, Pledges Support

‎The Oyo State House of Assembly, has felicitated the newly elected Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Comrade Akeem Abas.

‎The Assembly through Chairman, House Committee on Information, Media, ICT and Public Affairs, Honourable Waheed Akintayo, popularly known as Ilumoka Presenter felicitated the newly Chairman in a congratulatory message extended to Comrade Abas, popularly known as Alakime.

‎Oyo Assembly, described Comrade Abas’ emergence as well-deserved and a reflection of his professionalism, integrity, and long-standing dedication to ethical journalism.

‎The House, noted that the election marked the beginning of a promising chapter for the union under a forward-thinking and committed leader.

‎They expressed confidence that Abas’ leadership would further strengthen the media landscape in Oyo State, promote press freedom, and enhance collaboration between journalists and government institutions.

‎In the message Oyo State House of Assembly, pledged continuous support and collaboration, particularly in the areas of effective communication, media development, and public engagement.

‎The Assembly also encouraged the newly Chairman NUJ to prioritize unity among journalists, uphold high professional standards, and advocate for the welfare and capacity development of members.

‎They prayed for a successful and impactful tenure for Comrade Abas, adding that the Assembly looks forward to a productive relationship with the NUJ under his stewardship.
