Libya has been under the spotlight since Sunday following the way they maltreated Nigeria’s Super Eagles players and technical crew.

The football body via its Competition Director, Luxolo September, reacted through UK-based journalist Osasuo Obayiuwana.
” CAF is aware of this matter and is in touch with the Teams in Libya”, he said.

The Nigerian side are due to be back in Nigeria as they have resolved not to play the game following their inability to gain entrance into Libya as immigration officers delayed Nigeria contingents for more than 12 hours.
According to Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong on X, the players unanimously agreed to forfeit Libya game after being stranded at the airport 14 hours after landing in Libya.
“At this point we have called for our Nigerian Government to intervene and rescue us. As the captain together with the team we have decided that we will NOT play this game. CAF should look at the report and what is happening here. Even if they decide to allow.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, has condemned the actions of Libyan authorities.
Enoh who expressed concern on the horrible treatment called Libya authorities to respect international sporting relations and the fundamental rights of athletes and officials traveling for official purposes
