Oyo State Governor,Seyi Makinde, has assured the family of the immediate past Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, that the state government will give the monarch a befitting burial.
Governor Makinde made the assurance when a delegation from the family, led by Chief Bayo Oyero, the Aare Mayegun of Ibadanland, formally informed him of Oba Olakulehin’s passing.
The delegation also included the late monarch’s younger brother, Mr. Osuolale Owolabi Olakulehin, and his son, Aremo Olasumbo Owolabi.

While receiving the delegation in his office, Governor Makinde expressed his condolences and pledged the state’s support for the family during this difficult time.
Chief Oyero, who spoke on behalf of the family, commended the state government for its support, particularly in organizing a remarkable coronation ceremony for the 43rd Olubadan.
It’s worth noting that Oba Akinloye Frederick Owolabi Olakulehin had celebrated his 90th birthday on July 5, just a short time before his passing.
He ascended the throne as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland about a year ago succeeding Oba Lekan Balogun.
