Nigerians at all levels have been reminded to always reference God in their activities.
Chaplain, the Lord’s Chapel, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Reverend James Olukoya, said this when Christian Lawmakers in the Oyo state House of Assembly under the aegis of Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International, filed out in beautiful Ankara and other traditional attires to celebrate 2024 Christmas Carol.
The programme held at the House of Assembly chapel, parliament building did not just featured song rendition and reading of scripture from the holy Bible, it was an opportunity for both lawmakers and Christian assembly workers to appreciate God for the success of year 2024.

Speaking on the theme, “Ever Present and dependable Emmanuel” Reverend Olukoya, who noted that iniquities had brought Nigeria to its present stage, assured that God would reverse the hardship if Nigerians turned to God.
Reverend Olukoya who said the Israelites faced serious challenges in Egypt and God sustained them, explained that God is ever present even in complex situations.
Mother of the day, who is also the wife of the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mrs. Olamidun Ogundoyin, while thanking God for the unity among the lawmakers in the outgoing year, stressed the need for people to always be optimistic in their activities.

Mrs. Ogundoyin, encouraged Oyo Assembly lawmakers to have positive mindset towards the new year.
Earlier, Chapter President, a member representing Ibadan Southwest Constituency 2, Honourable Oluwafemi Oluwafowokanmi, said the gathering was to glorify God for his blessings at all times.
He said “Carol is more or less a song of praise, in hymns, it’s one of the many ways to glorify God for the son given to us, Jesus Christ and for sparing our lives from January till date, God has kept the assembly in harmony
Speaking with newsmen, Chairman, planning committee, Honourable Gbenga Oyekola, said the Assembly in the coming years would give their best in legislative activities and rededicate their services to the progress and growth of the state in 2025.

The annual event that featured choir ministrations, prayers and presentation of gifts to retirees also had in attendance clerk of the House, Mrs Taiwo Muraina-Akinola, Honourable Peter Ojedokun, Honourable Abiodun Babalola, wives of some Oyo assembly lawmakers, among others.
