The Oyo State House of Assembly has granted Governor Seyi Makinde the approval to request from the Federal Government the state’s Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) entitlement.
The request was contained in the message Governor Makinde seng during plenary presided over by deputy speaker, Honourable Mohammed Fadeyi.
The message titled “Review, Recovery and Reconsideration of the Federation’s NLNG dividends to the state from January 1999 till date, was read by Honourable Fadeyi.
The House approved the request after the motion was moved by Majority Leader, Honourable Sanjo Adedoyin and Seconded by Chief Whip, Honourable Gbenga Oyekola.
Governor Makinde in the message noted that the entitlement when released through the Federal Ministry of Finance, be used for various developmental projects, infrastructure and interventions in the state.
The House, after granting the request, commended Governor Makinde for his proactiveness and being thoughtful of the betterment of the state and its people.
The House expressed its readiness to align with the executive arm of government on ideas, principles and policies that will bring development to the state.
