The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered a toy pistol during a patrol operation in Ibadan, the state capital.
The suspects were apprehended by operatives attached to Bodija Market Division while conducting a routine stop-and-search along Awolowo Road, Bodija.
According to the police, All the three suspects are residents of Gbaremu area of Ibadan.
A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of a toy pistol concealed in a black bag, as well as six mobile phones found in their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to robbing unsuspecting members of the public and dispossessing them of their valuables.
The police authority said the suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to determine the extent of their activities and identify other possible accomplices.
