In a personally signed statement, titled “CONGRATULATIONS TO PRINCE AKEEM ABIMBOLA OWOADE: THE DIVINE CHOICE AS THE NEW ALAAFIN OF OYO”, Honourable Rahman Olorunpoto, welcomed Prince Owoade’s ascension to the throne.<\/p>\n
This development follows Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s formal approval of Prince Owoade, as recommended by the Oyomesi.<\/p>\n
Prince Owoade’s approval marks the end of an almost three-year vacancy on the throne, which occurred after the passing of \u1eccba Lamidi Adeyemi on April 22, 2022.<\/p>\n
The statement read, “It is with immense joy and reverence that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, the divine choice, on his ascension to the revered throne of the Alaafin of Oyo.
